Given the stupendous performance of the Indian cricket team in the ongoing ICC World Cup, the men-in-blue should be considered as favourites to retain the same. India has won five matches on the trot and are looking good to give the other teams in the World Cup a run for their money. India is sitting pretty at the top of pool B with 10 points out of 5 matches.
MS Dhoni has led the team from the front and has got good support from his batsmen, specially Virat Kohli and Shikar Dhavan. The victory against Pakistan in the opening match was a moral-booster for Team India. The players did not look back from there. But what has been more impressive is the performance of the bowlers. They have dismissed the batsmen in all the five matches thus far.
Taking fifty wickets in five matches in a row is indeed a tremendous achievement and the bowlers deserve much of the credit for Team India’s impressive in the 2015 World Cup. Bowling the opposition out in five matches in a row is no mean achievement. The confidence of the team is sky-high. But then this performance should not make the team over-confident.
From now on the players should play each match as if it were the finals. The team should be more focused in the remaining matches. With England out of the World Cup, Team India will have to be aware of teams like Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies. Undoubtedly India’s performance in the World Cup has brought much cheer to the millions of Indian fans all over the globe. They (the fans) will definitely be looking forward to Team India retaining the 2015 World Cup.
