The buzz has subsided but not completely dead yet. The flames though doused, the burn still persist. Time and again drops of fuel gives a fury initiation to the topic hyped, the subject of reservation. Being a youth and citizen of our country I question the need and importance of reserving seats to uplift citizens. Does it really add on to help of the needy or it is just a medium to fool people on the basis of community, gender, caste and societal status. Or is it a tool to woo people by the political parties by attracting ballot on the basis of unbiased.
Irrespective of gender, age or religion every being in existence in our country wants to belong to the quota of reservation. It appears alluring and attractive trap. The populace who belong to the community, who enjoy the fruits of reserved share are being grateful only if they have enjoyed the privileged put on offer. Those unable complain of insufficient arrangements made and ask for incline in the ratio. Those who seat outside as spectators unable to grab the fruit as they lack the criteria required to own it want to create one for him taking into confidence group of people hungry like him.
Are we really moving in the right direction? Is reservation really going to solve our difficulties? If yes how come? Why do we find ourselves helpless and frail that we want to shoulder ourselves and raise the ladder through mediocrity and aid our future through the fascinating term of reservation? Isn’t the mere fact that we grant privilege to a section of population irrespective of the basis that we are being unjust to the left out group?
If one really wants to experience progress and acquaint the growth we have got to strengthen the foundation and not just allure it with preserving seats terming them as step towards development. We got to alter and add progressive feature in our basic education system and make it strapping enough that we wouldn’t feel the need to rely on a quota to enhance in our life. We require to facilitate the basics and empower the masses that they strive to stand on their feet on the basis of the knowledge imparted to them. And the population has got to realize that one needs to put in efforts to achieve what they eye on and it is pointless if they do it with the aid of persevered seats sidelining the deserved and hardworking group.
