During the election year we find people are using this year for their own benefits and not for the benefits of the general public.
We have seen that the Government did many U-turns be it to benefit the industry owners, casino owners, builders, RP-21, mine owners, and now having to also deal with the language controversial issue with members of the same party arguing for and against the same. Where were they for the last four years? Must have been in slumber but have now woken up to only keep their chair.
We know that during the 2012 elections they knew the mood of the people as they were fed-up with the mis-deeds of the Congress Party then and knew that the voters were fed up of them. It was no big deal then because everyone knew that. So then they boasted that it is because of them BJP came to power. Now also they know the mood of the voters and they want to say that they will not help them in this coming election because of the MoI issue? They know that the BJP will lose for all their U-turns, and even worse corruption, bringing in ordinances like changing the status of a coconut tree to help politicians and their families to benefit be it in Tuem, Mopa or even Tiracol or for a brewery that is run by a politician’s family.
I now challenge them to support the BJP and win these coming elections. BBSM members don’t only have English schools operating and owned by them but have also send their own children and grand-children to English medium schools. If the grants for English schools are stopped then they will profit in all ways.
In order to save face they are now saying that without them the BJP government will fall which is laughable because they have now realized that they cannot run piggy back on the BJP platform which will definitely fall as the mood of the people has also changed. The ex-Chief Minister had admitted before the 2012 elections that he was upset that his decisions taken before was due to a death in his family and would now take all stakeholders into confidence before making any decisions. Now what has happened? Who has died in the BJP family? There is secrecy in all the decisions they make and make U-turns again when people raise their voices. There are a lot of cases not solved especially of those who fight for our Goa.
