Goa and its identity in Crisis

With the recent tumultuous happenings it is apparent that the Government is determined to change the face of Goa adversely bit by bit, piece by piece in accordance to its own agenda. So, it is up to the Goans to protect Goa at every destructive move of the Govt.

As the untrustworthy Government did an illegal U-turn on its pre-poll promise of Special Status for Goa, now the only logical way is to stamp our Special Status on Goa is by primarily protecting our villages, which are irrefutable part of our Goaness, our Goan identity, from the greedy, lying, deceiving, treacherous politicians and Panchayats by confronting them at their every suspicious projects and arbitrary decision thrust upon our peaceful villages, for their selfish monitory gains.
Presently, the ongoing dissent of the people of Carmona village should be a point in case. Obviously, a handful of people protesting will not have any effect on Government’s detrimental decisions on the issue affecting Carmona Village, viz. the horrendous Raheja project. All such issues, hurting any one village should be the concern of every other village/r and all Goans must show solidarity in times of such crises strongly and fearlessly. Make time and efforts to join the Carmoncars in their fight against destruction of their village.
Goans will oppose all cockeyed and damaging projects thrust upon Goa, not for sake of just opposing projects but with unfaltering determination to save Goa from irreversible destruction.
Goans beware! It is now-or-never situation. If you don’t rise now unitedly and come out of your cocoons, you can kiss goodbye to Goa of  your future generations.
So many activists and NGOs are  fighting several contentious issues to protect Goa. These activists sacrifice their time, efforts, use their own money and resources to stand up for a cause they believe in, even to the extent of jeopardizing their own lives. But Goans are not coming forward in sufficiently to support them. Open your eyes, ears and awaken your senses. Come in large numbers to join them in the struggle to save Goa. Give priority to this, your own battle for survival against the senseless onslaught of the Govt. on Goa. It is still not too late.
