Not humility but introspection

After the Maharashtra and Haryana defeats the Congress President,  Sonia Gandhi  and the Vice-President,  Rahul Gandhi declared that they accept the results of the elections with humility. Very nice, but not very comforting.
The Congress has been on the downslide long before the Lok Sabha elections, but the people who mattered never  had the courage or the will to introspect and take remedial steps. The alarm bells had been there for many years  but no one was ready to listen. The climax – or anti-climax? –  was the shattering defeat at the Lok Sabha polls where  the Congress  was practically decimated all over India  in such a way that it  could not even secure 10% of the seats and  claim with dignity to be the rightful  Opposition Party  in the Parliament, was a clarion call, but again the same stoic acceptance but no thorough introspection.
After that  it has continued to lose most of  the bye-elections and now the humiliating defeat in Maharashtra and Haryana  where it could not even secure the second place. Is the Congress going to accept all the electoral results just with humility? It will surely not work.
It is  now high time that the Congress Party  starts having a sincere introspection on why  these constant shocking  debacles.
If the Congress  is sincerely interested in saving the Party, it has to find  leaders who work with  people and show some results. It has to  leave aside theatrics and platitudes and search for merits.
There  is still time for salvation to the Congress Party. There are still many, many people in  India who would like to see the Congress Party  back on the saddle. But a sincere introspection from those in charge of the Party itself is needed. No one wants to see  the repeat show of the corruption, inefficiency and specially the unashamed rule  of a Dynasty which has  only one-point programme.
Finally if the Congress party does not opt for introspection there will be no need of a Modi or a Amit Shah to liberate India of Congress rule, but the Congress itself will do the job, but…God save us from one party rule!
