Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he underwent treatment for prostate cancer, making his first public acknowledgment of the diagnosis.
In a post on X, he said he had surgery about a year and a half ago and later received radiation therapy for a small tumour at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, which had not been disclosed earlier. Netanyahu said he is now healthy.
The announcement comes ahead of his planned visit to the White House, as the United States works to broker a lasting peace deal in the Iran conflict and Israel’s ceasefire with Lebanon has been extended by three weeks.
