Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, speaking in an interview with Fox News, said the United States is preparing what he described as its largest military strikes yet against Iran.
Bessent said the planned operation could become the “biggest bombing campaign,” targeting Iran’s missile launch systems and manufacturing facilities.
“Tonight will be our biggest bombing campaign. We’ll do the most damage to the Iranian missile launchers and the factories that build the missiles. We are substantially degrading them. Our campaign has been overwhelming,” he said.
The latest developments signal a significant escalation in the conflict, raising concerns among international observers about the possibility of a wider regional war in the Middle East.
