Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s plan to host a dinner meeting with his council of ministers on October 13 has set off fresh speculation about a possible cabinet reshuffle in the state.
For now, the Congress has officially ruled out any reshuffle before the Bihar elections, scheduled for November. Party sources said the high command will take a final call only after the polls conclude, as its current focus remains on Bihar.

Behind the scenes, however, the issue is tied to the long-running power-sharing speculation between Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar. While Congress leaders publicly dismiss talk of a leadership rotation, rival camps continue to lobby for influence.
Sources said Siddaramaiah’s faction views the reshuffle as a way to consolidate control, while Shivakumar’s camp prefers to delay it and push for a leadership change instead.
Siddaramaiah has described the October 13 gathering as a “courtesy meeting,” but insiders suggest it could serve as an informal consultation ahead of any shake-up.
Senior ministers G Parameshwara and Satish Jarkiholi have urged the party high command to end the ongoing speculation, saying it’s creating confusion within the government.
Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah has reiterated that he intends to serve a full five-year term, though he added that he would abide by the high command’s decision.
