US President Donald Trump has said that the United States must “finish the job” in Iran, even as he earlier suggested that the conflict could soon come to an end.
Speaking during a rally in Hebron, Kentucky, Trump stressed that the United States should not withdraw prematurely from the ongoing military campaign involving US and Israeli operations against Iran. “We don’t want to leave early, do we? We’ve got to finish the job, right?” he said while addressing supporters.

The remarks came just hours after Trump indicated that the war might end soon because American forces had already struck most of their intended targets in Iran. He had earlier said there was “practically nothing left” to attack following a series of intense strikes.
During the speech, Trump claimed the US military had inflicted heavy damage on Iran’s capabilities, asserting that the campaign had significantly weakened the country’s armed forces. He also suggested that the outcome of the conflict had been decided very early, saying the war was effectively won within the first hour of fighting.
The United States and Israel launched a wave of attacks against Iranian targets as part of a major military operation that has dramatically escalated tensions in the region. Despite claiming major success, Trump indicated that the United States would continue its involvement until its objectives in Iran are fully achieved.
The conflict has raised concerns globally, with analysts warning that continued military action could further destabilise the Middle East and intensify geopolitical tensions.
