197 held in Vasco last two months

VASCO: Incident of people creating public nuisance under Vasco police station jurisdiction has declined to a large extend as in the last two months, the Vasco police have arrested about 197 people creating public nuisance. According to Vasco Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo, soon after he took over charge of Vasco police station, he had decided to crackdown on people creating public nuisance and working in the same direction, from January to March 3, 197 persons have been booked and arrested under Section 34 of Police Act. “Such action to crack down on people creating public nuisance was very much required as time and again innocent citizens were left to face hardships due to some people creating public nuisance without any fear. So, we decided to intensify our night patrolling in the areas where such public nuisance were reportedly created and 197 persons were booked so far, with the arrest of 17 people last night,” Raposo said. Likewise, Vasco police have also kick started drive against beggar menace and have booked over 27 beggars in last two months and such drive would continue in future.
