PANJIM: A total of 2.11
million tonnes of iron ore will be up for e-auction on April 27.
Directorate of Mines and
Geology (DMG) has identified 129 lots at Vagus jetty, Sirigao mine, Codli mine,
Suctolim mine, Kotambi jetty, Surla jetty and Khazan jetty for e-auction.
Of the 15 million tonnes of ore identified for e-auction, 7.76 million
tons are still stacked awaiting auction.
In the last two years, DMG has managed to e-auction only 7.24 million tonnes of ore, of which 7
million tonnes have been moved out of the site. Nearly 46 lakh tonnes of ore have
been exported.
For Wednesday’s e-auction,
DMG has slashed the minimum earnest money deposit (EMD). The minimum EMD is now Rs 1 lakh for bidding up to 5000
metric tonnes from the earlier Rs 25 lakh for bidding up to 1,000 metric tonnes
of ore.
