Three employers of a private bank at Patto, Panaji have been booked for duping a customer of Rs three-lakh, Panjim police informed. Those booked include Amit Khatkar of Mapusa, Sonali Araundikar of Vasco and Anil (full name not known) for cheating.
In his complaint to Panjim town police station, Rishikesh Naik of Margao mentioned that he approached the bank to obtain a loan amount of Rs three-lakh when the trio allegedly demanded him two cheques of Rs 10,000 each and cash of Rs 50,000 as ‘security amount.’
The complainant paid the demanded amount and in return he was given cheques of the requested loan amount. However, these cheques turned out to be forged after which he lodged a complaint with the police who are carrying out a preliminary inquiry to take further action.
