Pandemonium prevailed at Agarwada-Chopdem gram sabha meeting on Sunday over the issue of inauguration of new panchayat building, which was recently held at Agarwada.
The gram sabha was plunged into unprecedented chaos, after former sarpanch Babli Raut asked Sarpanch Prabhakar Nagvekar as to why he inaugurated the incomplete panchayat building.
Irked with this, angry scenes prevailed with gram sabha members divided over the issue. Some villagers spoke in favour of the sarpanch and his group, while some spoke against the ruling body. Some angry villagers flung off the chairs and damaged furniture and microphone at the gram sabha meeting.
Later, Sarpanch Prabhakar Nagevekar had to abruptly end the meeting and hold separate meeting of the panchayat members. Later, the sarpanch filed a police compliant against two gram sabha members, who also filed a police complaint against the sarpanch.
Pernem Police has registered non-cognizable cases against both the parties.
