32 workers arrested for blocking road

The Margao police on Friday morning arrested 32 workers who had blocked the road near the residence of a businessman behind Cine Metropole here.
They were protesting against the non-payment of their wages by the management of a pharmaceutical company.
Margao PI Santosh Desai said the workers, including 19 ladies, were taken into custody under preventive detection as a precautionary measure.
He said the workers were later released by the court.
