PANJIM: The Children’s Court has directed four All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, doctors to appear before it on September 2 in connection with the death of British teenager Scarlett Keeling.
The summons has been served to three forensic experts Dr D N Bharadwaj, Dr T Millo and Dr Sanjeev Lalvani, and pathology Professor Dr Rama Roy.
Two accused, Samson D’Souza and Placido Carvalho are facing trial on charges of culpable homicide, outraging modesty and destroying evidence.
Scarlett’s semi-clad bruised body was found on the Anjuna shores on February 18, 2008 morning. CBI had taken over the case from Goa Police on May 31.
The AIIMS doctors had conducted chemical analyses test, hence they are being summoned as witnesses.
The court presided over by Judge Anuja Prabhudesai has recorded statements of 22 witnesses so far even as 100-odd statements of witnesses are still pending.
Meanwhile, some Goa Medical College doctors have been dropped from the list of witnesses on request.
