5 places notified as MCZs in South Goa

PANJIM: The South Goa Collector Ruchika Katyal has issued orders notifying micro-containment zones (MCZs) in five places in South Goa.

The first order issued recently, declared three houses in Quepem Taluka and one in Canacona as micro-containment zones. Thereafter, another order was issued declaring a house in Vasco as a micro-containment zone. These were due to the number of COVID cases in those houses.

The houses in Quepem Taluka were House No 504 at Chinchwada Ambaulim; House No 23/1 at Voyamol Xeldem and House No 257/1 at Pedageg, Sirvoi.

In Canacona, it was House No 19 at Querem, Palolem.

In Vasco, it was House No 55, near Shree Krishna Temple, Mundvel, opp KTC bus stand. The houses in the vicinity have been marked as buffer zones. 

These measures have been taken to stop the spread of Coronavirus.

The collector also issued a detailed action plan for combating the situation along with screening and testing of suspected cases, quarantining, isolation, social distancing amongst other public health measures. A rapid response team has also been deployed.
