MARGAO: An accident that took place on the Cortalim-Loutolim bypass road killed a 57-year-old man on Monday. Six others from the two four-wheeler vehicles involved in the accident, also suffered injuries.
According to the police, Francisco Fernandes from Amrai, Panchwadi, died on the spot after the two vehicles collided with each other head on. The police informed that the other vehicle in the accident was being driven by one Amar Naik from New Vaddem Vasco and was proceeding towards Borim from the
bypass road. The accident occurred when one of the vehicles was attempting to overtake and rammed into the oncoming vehicle head on killing Francisco instantly.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a KTC bus engine caught fire at Rawanfond Margao. A woman was injured while passengers from the bus attempted to leave the bus.
