CUNCOLIM/MARGAO: Seven passengers were injured in a bus-truck collision reported at Panzorconi, Cuncolim on Thursday morning.
According to police, the bus was proceeding from Balli to Margao. The bus driver while trying to overtake another vehicle, had a head-on collision with a truck, which was proceeding to Karwar.
Five students among the seven passengers were seriously injured in the accident, which occurred on Thursday at 7.30 am.
The police further said that the injured – Jaydeep Shirodkar, Kalpesh Naik, Samruddhi Naik, Divya Naik, Saizal D’Souza, Nitin Velip and Romalo Fernandes sustained injuries and were admitted to Hospicio Hospital, Margao. Cuncolim Police have registered an offence against the bus driver for rash and negligent driving. GGF has demanded against releasing the bus and to cancel its permit and scrap the same.
