PANJIM, SEPT 3
The Government will honour eight distinguished teachers with State Awards in various categories on the occasion of 49th Teachers Day to be celebrated on September 6 at Dinanath Mangueshkar Hall, Kala Academy, Panjim at 10.30 am.
The teachers selected are in the category of Primary Teacher, Assistant Teacher, Teacher Grade-I, Headmasters of High Schools, and Principal of Higher Secondary School will receive State Awards 2010 including a cheque of Rs25,000, merit certificate and memento for their meritorious service to the society.
Chief Minister Digambar Kamat will be the chief guest and Minister for Education Atanasio Monserrate will be the guest of honour.
The awardees are primary teacher- Chandrabhaga A Shetgaonkar, Government Primary Teacher, GPMS, Socorro, Porvorim; Shankar K Budke, Government Primary Teacher, GPS, Talsai-Dharbandora, Sanguem. Secondary Teacher- Subhash D Lotlikar, Assistant Teacher, Sacred Heart of Jesus HS, Carmona; Dattatray K K Ghanekar, Assistant Teacher, People’s High School, Mala-Panjim; Headmasters- Premanand P Mahambre, Headmaster, Dayanand HS, Chodan, and Maria I C Gonsalves, Headmistress, St Thomas HS, Cansaulim; Shrikant More, Teacher Grade-I, Smt Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao and Subhash N Naik, Principal, Saraswat Vidyalaya Purshottam Walawalkar Higher Secondary School, Mapusa.
Prizes will be given to the taluka office of ADEI for last year’s Teachers Day’s highest collection based on the population ratio and a special prize for the highest collection.
1st Mormugao Taluka, 2nd Tiswadi Taluka and 3rd Bicholim Taluka and Special Prize-Salcete Taluka.
