Addressing a press conference in the city, AAP Media Convener Rupesh Shinkre accused Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar of going ahead and signing a PPP contract involved in the Britonna Residency without consulting the locals.
“It’s simply clear why a government which was hibernating in governance for four and half years is now suddenly signing a flurry of deals at the fag end of its tenure – it’s simply to generate election funding,” Shinkre said.
Stating that these deals are meant to raise election funding for the ruling party and politicians, neither the people at large nor constitutional democratic institutions like village panchayats and gram sabhas, are being consulted or kept in the loop of the decisions.
AAP said it will review all suchproposals and deals of the government and come with fresh proposals through fundamental political philosophy of ‘swaraj’ which involves consultation with local population through ‘mohalla’ and Gram Sabhas.
