This Committee will function in co-ordination with Department of Art & Culture as well as with Tiatr Academy of Goa.
Numerous tiatr-related cultural activities are being planned during the year-long celebrations. The inaugural function will be held on Saturday, October 1, at the JAF Auditorium, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao at 4.00 pm. Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar will inaugurate the celebrations while Dayanand Mandrekar, Minister for Art & Culture will be the chief guest and Avertano Furtado, Minister for Fisheries will preside over the function.
The activities will be organized in different parts of Goa throughout the year. The remaining activities include a two-day programme on December 14 and 15 at Ravindra Bhavan. There will be an exhibition of the works of tiatr artistes on the occasion of birth anniversary of Joao Agostinho Fernandes – Father of Tiatr.
Furthermore there will be a documentary made on tiatr depicting the past and present history of tiatr, organization of special programmes in all talukas and felicitations of Tiatr artistes from each Taluka.
The concluding function will be held on April 17, 2017 at Kala Academy, Panjim .
on the occasion of the birth anniversary of pioneer of Tiatr – Lucasinho Ribeiro. On this occasion the history of tiatr will be presented through performance and felicitation of prominent tiatr personalities.
