PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) feels that it is the only alternative that Goans, tired of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, have in the State.
Addressing the media on Friday, AAP leaders claimed the party is receiving an overwhelming response across the State where volunteers are on a door-to-door campaign.
Spokesperson Ashutosh Gupta, a former journalist, said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will visit Goa on May 22 to address a massive rally in Panjim and interact with local leaders.
Ashutosh said the party’s political action would be opened by Kejriwal the same day. “We will emerge as a real alternative in Goa for the people,” he assured.
AAP national secretary Pankaj Gupta, and observer for Goa, said that by the end of April, AAP will have concluded almost 300 corners meeting in 25-30 constituencies.
The party is also in the process of identifying booth level and village level leaders in view of the 2017 Assembly elections, the AAP leader said.
