OLD GOA: Stating that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would not leave its voters high and dry even after the Lok Sabha elections are over, its North Goa candidate Dattaram Dessai assured that he along with party workers will work towards fulfilling its obligations made during the elections.
Speaking at a meeting at Indira Nagar-Chimbel on Wednesday night, Dessai said even if he loses the election he will always be available to the public to guide them in solving the problems affecting their daily lives.
Dessai then advised the Indira Nagar voters not to sell their votes for the lure of money as it would be detrimental for their own interest. “If you sell your votes, the politicians will be least bothered to listen to your woes,” he informed.
Pointing towards the garbage menace at Indira Nagar, Dessai said it is the duty of the panchayat authorities to keep the area clean so that the residents can live a healthy life.
“The residents of Indira Nagar have a right to live in a clean environment, right to health facilities, right to education, etc,” Dessai informed.
“If AAP comes to power at the Centre, we will work towards the implementation of Gram Swaraj, where the resolutions passed by the villagers at the gram sabha will have to be implemented by the authorities concerned,” Dessai said.
“Currently, there is lack of implementation of resolutions, due to which problems plaguing the villages remain unsolved,” he added.
