VASCO: An Air India flight to Delhi from Goa with 168 passengers besides the crew made an emergency landing on Monday afternoon after the pilot noticed a technical fault in the aircraft.
According to the information, the incident was reported at about 3.00 pm when the pilot of Air India flight travelled the entire length of the runway, but before he could take off, he suspected a technical fault (details not known) in the aircraft and decided to abort the take-off. He later brought back the aircraft to the apron.
The Air India technical team attempted to rectify the fault and after an hour, the aircraft took off from the Goa airport only to come back after flying in the sky for over 10 minutes.
All 168 passengers were disembarked from the aircraft and after a five hour delay a replacement aircraft was summoned for their onward journey to Delhi.
Airport Director BCH Negi said, “The flight which was ready to take off at around 3 pm initially developed a technical problem and had to come back before taking off. The flight which had its technical problem fixed took off from the runway but returned after the problem prevailed”.
