He said that he is the chief minister of the entire Goa, as such it is his bounden duty to develop all the 40 constituencies.
The chief minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a sewerage treatment plant at Porvorim, on Tuesday.
Parsekar said that the sewerage treatment plant is very essential for Porvorim and it should have been construed 10 years ago.
He said the Rs 283 crore sewage treatment plant would be completed within 18 months, provided the residents cooperated and did not raise any unnecessary obstacles.
The PWD Minister Sudin Dhavaliker stated that the financial constraints forced the government to delay the undertaking of major developments projects in the state. The foundation stone for the new 6-lane Zuari Bridge would be laid on December 19. The government has decided to widen national highways 4 and 17 and also build a major highway between Tivim and Usgaon.
The state government has been successful in reducing water going waste from 40% to 22% and efforts are on to bring it down to 5%, Dhavaliker said. Local MLA Rohan Khaunte stated that he wants to make Porvorim a model town for which he required the support from the government.
He said Porvorim was facing the water shortage and hence urged the government to construct a mini-water treatment plant of 15 MLD capacity.
