Anjuna Police Seize ₹25 Lakh Psilocybin Drugs in Siolim; French National Arrested

In a late-night operation, Anjuna Police seized suspected psilocybin-based narcotics worth over ₹25 lakh and arrested a 43-year-old French national in Siolim.

Acting on specific intelligence, police carried out a raid near the crematorium at Aradi, Oxel, where the accused was allegedly found in possession of a substantial quantity of contraband.

The seizure included 136 grams of dried “magic mushrooms” and 37 packets of suspected mushroom-infused chocolates weighing over 1.8 kg. The narcotics were reportedly recovered from a Yamaha Fascino scooter in her possession.

Following the operation, a case was registered under Section 22(c) of the NDPS Act at Anjuna Police Station. The accused was taken into custody and later produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court in Mapusa, which remanded her to five days of police custody.

The investigation is being led by LPSI Leesha Garudi under the supervision of PI Suraj Gawas and other senior police officials.
