According to reports, the incident took place at about 10.30 am, when the trailer (MH-06-AC-9679) rammed into the hillock on a sharp curve near the Dudhsagar temple.
Collem Police had to requisition the services of a crane to dislodge the ill-fated trailer and traffic was later diverted via the Chorla Ghat.
Head Constable Deepak Pawar is investigating the case under the supervision of Collem PI Jivba Dalvi.
