MARGAO: Anwesha Singbal has been re-elected unopposed as the President of Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Goa for a second term. The new executive committee for the year 2023-2026 was elected during a general body meeting held on April 30 in Margao. The committee consists of 12 members and 12 Taluka representatives who were also elected unopposed. Rupesh Kamat served as the Election Officer for the process.
Singbal, an accomplished Konkani writer and activist, has published four books of poems and won the Sahitya Akademi Youth Award for her collection of poems, Sulus. coordinated various programs, including Shenai Goembaab Kathamal, Goa Yuva Mahotsav, and Bal Sahitya Parishad.
“My first term was overshadowed by the Covid-19 pandemic, but we continued to work with the help of technology. In the second term, we plan to bring new youth into the Konkani fold and give momentum to the work of KBM,”

The new committee includes Vice President Ratnamala Divkar, Secretary Mangaldas Bhat, Treasurer Dr. Purushottam Verlekar, Joint Secretaries Dr. Vedika Walke and Vallabh Barve. The members of the Central Committee are Hrishikesh Kadam, Rupesh Thanekar, Palash Agni, Shalaka Desai,
Marcos Gonsalves, and Rajesh Prabhu.
