VASCO: The Railway Police and the Railway Protection Force have registered offence against 11-odd protestors who recently squatted on the railway tracks during the night vigil near St Lawrence Chapel Arossim-Cansaulim on the eve of Goa Liberation Day.
It may be recalled that the night vigil was held to oppose coal and double tracking.

The local police along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) had swung into action to clear the track after the four-hour long drama.
A source from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Vasco said that several people protested on December 18, 2020 night caused obstruction by squatting on the track near St Lawrence Chapel.
The source further stated that around 11-odd protestors have been booked under the Railway Act and offence under several sections has been registered against them. It said that further inquiry and process may take place in Vasco or in Hubballi.
Railway Police Station Vasco informed that an offence under Sections 186, 143, 147 r/w 149 of IPC and the Railway Act has been registered against Abhijit Prabhudessai, Anthony D’Silva, Vikas Bhagat, John Douglas, Zina Fernandes, Anthony Fernandes, Sandesh Talekar, Anish Araujo, Cecile Rodrigues, Venzy Viegas, Diana Travasso and others.
