PANJIM: The Children’s Court on Thursday dismissed the bail application of Renuka Shinde, an attendant at a day-care centre as she faces investigation for allegedly giving adulterated milk to an infant. This is the second time in one month that the court has rejected her bail plea considering the seriousness of the matter.
In the ongoing investigation, the police have recorded CCTV footage of the institution clearly showing Shinde mixing the milk with an unknown ingredient. The prosecution has raised strong suspicion that the woman, now in judicial custody, has been feeding adulterated milk to the infant.
The incident that occurred at Ponda wherein Shinde and the Centre’s manager Gauri Kamat are charged with the offense after the infant’s mother lodged a complaint on discovering brownish substance in the milk feeder. Upon inquiry and based on the CCTV footage, her doubts were clear that her daughter was being fed spiked milk.
