Bangalore tourist drowns off Candolim beach

MAPUSA: A Bangalore resident died of drowning off Candolim beach on Wednesday evening.

MAPUSA: A Bangalore resident died of drowning off Candolim beach on Wednesday evening.
Ravi Shridhara Gopala Krishna Ghat, 27, was in Goa along with his co-employees and he had gone for a swim off Candolim beach when he drowned. Ravi is an employee of Ad Shop Promotion Pvt Ltd, Bangalore.
The body of Ravi was later fished out by the lifeguards and taken to Candolim Primary Health Centre where the doctor declared him brought dead. 
Calangute police later conducted panchanama and shifted the body to GMC at Bambolim. The police surgeon opined the cause of death is due to asphyxia as a result of drowning in water. The body was then handed over to uncle of the deceased namely Satish Mahabaleshwar Hedge for final rites.
