2006 Mandar Surlakar Murder Convict Nafiaz Sheikh Seeks Premature Release

Nafiaz Sheikh, the fourth convict serving a sentence in connection with the 2006 Mandar Surlakar murder case, has approached the High Court seeking premature release.

Sheikh’s petition comes after the High Court, on August 6, ordered the premature release of three of his co-convicts — Rohan Dhungat, Ryan Pinto and Shankar Tiwari.

With the three co-convicts having been granted premature release, Sheikh has now moved the High Court seeking similar relief.

The court is expected to consider his plea in accordance with the applicable rules and circumstances of the case.
