MARGAO: Margao police have registered a case against the Branch Manager and staff of the State Bank of India (SBI), Margao Branch, for allegedly misappropriating original property documents valued at approximately Rs 75 lakh. The documents had been submitted as a security deposit for an educational loan availed by the complainant’s son.

The complaint was filed by Rajesh Kharangate, a resident of Margao and proprietor of Kharangate Engineers & Builders. Kharangate alleged that the documents were mishandled by the bank staff prior to October 26, 2023.
Police have registered the offence under Section 409 read with Section 34 of the IPC in case number 100/2024. The case is being investigated by PSI Sanjay Velip of the Margao Town Police Station.
