This comes along with a demand that the BJP-led government withdraw grants to English medium primary schools.
“We have prepared a file giving details that some legislators had openly supported our campaign, and former chief minister Manohar Parrikar had spoken on the floor of the House showing his support to regional languages,” BBSM member Vilas Satarkar said.
BBSM has so far met 12 of the 40 MLAs. On Tuesday, the members held a meeting with Panjim MLA Siddharth Kunkalienkar and submitted the file. “We reminded him that he had given us full support before being voted to power.
He has assured us to continue his support,” Satarkar said.
BBSM has reiterated that they have no objection to English schools but are against grants to these schools.
