PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar urged youth to become job providers after gaining experience as job seekers and emphasised on not depending on securing a government job.
“You can be a job provider if you gather proper information of the trade you are going to be employed in. Learn from the job and in future provide jobs,” he told a gathering while inaugurating a day-long Mega Job Fair in Panjim on Saturday.
Stating that there are jobs of various requirements, he was thrilled to see several youth at the fair that saw the participation of over 50 private companies. “Goan youth are considering private jobs as a good opportunity. There are jobs of various requirements and we need to prepare our youth for such opportunities,” he stated
He added that high salary should not be the criteria especially for new job seekers. “Don’t see salary when you are joining. Get into the job, take the training and grow there. I have seen that many gain experience and move out for better prospects. Experience is very important. Once you are experienced, salary can be your criteria,” he said.
He stated that to bring any factory or an industry, availability of jobs should also be on the top of the list. The CM said there would be various services required for the Mopa international airport, however, there is no training in Goa for air traffic control.
