Bengaluru daycare horror Toddlers allegedly locked in bathrooms, forced into washing machines

A daycare centre operating inside Capgemini’s HAL campus in Bengaluru has come under police investigation after shocking allegations of abuse involving toddlers surfaced through viral videos. Five women caregivers have been booked following complaints that children were subjected to inhuman treatment while under their care.According to officials, toddlers aged between two and three years were allegedly forced to sit inside the drum of a front-loading washing machine, sprayed with water using a toilet jet and locked inside bathrooms whenever they cried. The disturbing videos, which are circulating widely on social media, triggered outrage and prompted immediate action from authorities.A police complaint has been registered, while a separate complaint has also been filed before the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Investigators are examining the authenticity of the videos and gathering statements from parents, daycare staff and management as part of the probe. The allegations have left parents shocked, with many saying they trusted the daycare to provide a safe environment for their children while they were at work. The incident has also raised fresh concerns over the safety standards, monitoring and regulation of childcare facilities operating inside corporate campuses.Responding to the incident, Capgemini said the health, safety and well-being of its employees and their families remain its highest priority. The company stated that it is fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation and has temporarily closed the Bengaluru on-campus daycare as a precautionary measure.Police will now review the viral footage, question the accused caregivers and verify whether the daycare complied with prescribed childcare and safety regulations. If the allegations are established during the investigation, authorities have said appropriate legal action will be taken. The case has sparked widespread outrage, with child rights activists and parents demanding stricter oversight of daycare centres and stronger safeguards to ensure the safety and well-being of young children.
