PANJIM: Transport Department, while extending the days for submission of bids to install the digital fare meters and global positioning systems in tourist taxis, has allowed the bidders to form a consortium.
Transport Director Nikhil Desai said that certain conditions have been changed after the pre-conference bid for a better response.
“Consortium is a main and very important highlight after reviewing the tender document as it will give us a good rate and it will have effective competition,” he said. He said that the last date to submit the bid is April 2, 2018.
It is proposed in the tender document that the party quoting the lowest rates will be given exclusive supply rates for three months and subsequently all vendors qualifying through the RFP and agreeing to the lowest rates will be empanelled with Directorate of Transport to supply the meters.
Goa Electronics Limited (GEL) has an exclusive role in implementing the digital meters as the task of developing of CTRS web application, hosting and maintenance of CTRS, setting up of call centre, monitoring of SLA’s and establishing and operating a project management unit has been assigned to the agency.
