MARGAO: Alleging that the BJP government does not want anyone to voice their opposition to the recently passed Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill 2021, Margao residents on Saturday protested the decision of the District Collector’s office for denying permission to host a public meeting in the town.
Croydon Medeira, a Margao resident alleged that the BJP government is not for Goans, but for outsiders.
He said a group of Margao residents had planned to hold a public meeting at Holy Spirit Ground on August 15. However, upon the police remark, the District Collector’s office denied the permission, and hence the residents have voiced their opposition.
“We are ready to go jail and will oppose the said bill till our last breath. We will apply again for holding the public meeting. The government should not play with the sentiments of the people. We, Goans are struggling here to get our land rights and here, the government is working hard for the betterment of outsiders,” he alleged.
Croydon dared the politicians and ministers to give their land to outsiders.
