VASCO: The All Goa Fishing Boat Owners Association (AGFBOA) on Friday demanded that the boat owners be permitted to fish seasonal solar prawns during the monsoon fishing ban. They have threatened to venture into the sea for fishing from Saturday.
The AGFBOA members meeting decided to meet the Director of Fisheries to press for their demand or else to ban illegal fishing by the traditional fishermen at Velsao beach during the 61-day ban period. Association President Jose Philip D’Souza lashed out at the GRE for turning a blind eye to the illegal fishing carried out by the fishermen at Velsao beach.
