VASCO: Bogmalo Panchayat on Monday razed an illegal shack near Bogmalo Beach.
Panch Sankalp Mahale said, “The reason behind this action against the structure was due to illegal construction in CRZ area and complaints from the people.”
When contacted, Mahale informed the reporters that there were several complaints against this shack. The shack had illegal constructed expansion without necessary permissions in the CRZ area.
“Time and again the panchayat had warned the person running this shack but the warnings fell on deaf ears. Panchayat had issued show cause notice and the person running this shack had approached the Additional Director of Panchayat Margao with this matter,” Mahale said.
“The matter came in the Panchayat’s favour after two hearings and the panchayat went ahead with the demolition of the illegal shack since the person running this shack failed to produced the necessary documents, permissions from the authorities in the given time period. The demolition process happened through proper channel,” Mahale added.
