PONDA: Ponda Police on Monday rescued a pet dog with help of locals after a video of the injured dog, who was tied in a plastic bag was found dumped in a nullah at Usgao went viral on social media.
After inquiry in this connection, Police arrested one Hussain Kasab(45) resident of Avanti Nagar Tisk Usgao for cruelty to animal under Section 11 (a IGH for Cruelty to Animal).
According to Ponda, PI Mohan Gaude, the accused had taken the pet dog from another person. However, recently after an injury on the dog’s neck, Hussain put it in plastic bag, tied it and dumped it into nullah.
As there was no rain, nullah water level was low and the dog survived.
