PONDA: The Ponda police have booked Sameer Wachasundar, a director of Swanand Consultants and Engineers, for allegedly conducting illegal hill-cutting activities in Pilliem-Dharbandora without obtaining proper permission.

The case was registered following a complaint lodged by a planning draftsman from the Deputy Town Planner’s office, responsible for the Quepem-Sanguem-Dharbandora talukas. The complaint states that prior to August 13 this year, Wachasundar, as the occupier of land in Survey No. 42/2 of Pilliem village, Dharbandora, engaged in hill cutting without the necessary approval from the Town and Country Planning Department.
The investigation is currently ongoing, with PSI Chetan Naik of the Ponda police station overseeing the case.
