Burglars strike phone shop in Mandrem

Burglars broke into a mobile phone shop in the market at Mandrem and decamped with electronic items worth Rs 1 lakh on Friday night.
In a complaint, Sitaram C Korgaonkar told Pernem police that burglars broke open the shutter locks of his shop and had stolen 70 mobile phones, a camera and cash of Rs 4,500.
Incidentally, the burglars also made an unsuccessful bid to burgle a nearby jewelry shop.
Pernem police is investigating the case.
