Author Madhavitai Desai has called upon the young artists to retain their traditional art with incessant efforts in the form of meditation.
She was addressing the gathering during the felicitation ceremony of senior artistes, organised by Shantswarbrahma Sangeet Vidhyalaya Bicholim at Deendayal Bhavan Bicholim on Sunday.
Madhavitai lauded the efforts of senior Goan artistes who have put sincere efforts to create new artists. She also highlighted the work of junior artist Gauri Bhat Nayak for creating new generation in the field of singing.
SSV President Santosh Bhat and Gauri Bhat Nayak were present on the ocasion.
On the occasion, Pandit Nana Shirgaonkar, Pandit Vaman Pilgaonkar, Shubhlaxmi Mandrekar, Pandit Jagganath Pethlkar, Pandit Kamlakar Naik and Narsinha Govekar were felicitated by Madhavitai.
Santosh Bhat welcomed and introduced the guests, Govind Bhat compered the function, while Gauri Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
