CANACONA: BJP leaders including present MLA of Canacona and Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes paid rich tributes to former defence minister and chief minister Manohar Parrikar on his first death anniversary at a function organised at Sristhal panchayat hall, here, on Tuesday.
In a simple function, the portrait of late Manohar Parrikar was garlanded by Deputy Speaker in the presence of former minister Ramesh Tawadkar, former Canacona MLA Vijay Pai Khot, Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Nitu Sameer Dessi, BJP office bearers Pankaj Naikgaonkar, Mahesh Naik, Suraj Naikgaonkar and Shubam Komarpant.

During the programme, all the speakers lauded the work of Parrikar while Isidore said that Parrikar was a mass leader who was instrumental in bringing lot of development in State and always gave priority to whatever work which he took up with him when he was the chief minister.
