CANACONA: Businessmen of the municipal area in Canacona can get their trade licences renewed without the need to clear their long-pending arrears for now.
In a deal brokered by local MLA and Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar on Thursday, the Canacona Municipal Council (CMC) has finally agreed to renew trade licences of the defaulters without demanding a clearance of their long-pending arrears.
“Businessmen of Chaudi and surrounding areas of the municipality can now renew their trade licenses by paying current three-year trade fees without a reference to pending arrears from 1989 onwards,” informed CMC Chairperson Ajay Bhagat.
