Canacona: Congress leader Janardhan Bhandari has accused BJP leaders of harassing a local businessman who runs a gadda under Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Swayampurn Bharat scheme. Led by Bhandari, members of Swabhimani Jagrut Cankonkar and Jansena Warriors gherao Canacona municipal chief officer Madhu Narvekar on Monday.
Dhiraj Naik Gaonkar and Shubham Komarpant (councillors), Vikas Bhagat, Pralay Bhagat, Ratnakar Velip and others were present.
Bhandari said that the Canacona Congress and Jansena Warriors have sent a written appeal to the Chief Minister, other ministers and various other officials.
“The said youth who runs the kiosk at Palolem beach has always been vocal about the issues faced by the people of taluka but is not the supporter of the ruling MLA which is why his business was forcefully shut down,” claimed Bhandari. He has also threatened to open a campaign against illegal businesses set by non-local people from 5th January onwards if the political leaders do not stop harassing the local traders.
