CANACONA: Reports from Canacona indicated heavy rainfall accompanied by gutsy winds in most parts of the taluka the entire day. Normal life was disrupted as 10 trees got uprooted falling either on the roads or houses. However, no injuries or loss of life was reported.
Canacona rain gauge observatory recorded 9.76 cms rain for a 24-hour period ending 8.30 am on Monday.
However, the rain gauge readings from 8.30 am till 3.30 pm on Monday were just 1.8 cms.
Since the flooding and the high tide time coincided, water from rivers Talpona, Galgibaga and Saleri began overflowing into the adjoining fields.
