MARGAO: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has called for the immediate cancellation of the ongoing recruitment at the South Goa District Collector’s office, citing missed statutory deadlines and potential irregularities in the selection process.

GFP General Secretary Durgadas Kamat along with member Mohandas Lolienkar and others, met with the South Goa District Collector on Tuesday to express their dissatisfaction with the handling of the recruitment process.
The positions under recruitment include junior stenographer, talathi, lower division clerk, and multi-tasking staff. The recruitment procedure was initiated in 2019, with a clear mandate that the selection process be concluded by October 31, 2024.
“Despite the clear statutory timeline set forth in the Goa Gazette notification, the selection process remains incomplete as of the required date. This delay contravenes the express provisions of the notification, thereby rendering the ongoing recruitment process irregular and unlawful posts the stipulated deadline,” Kamat remarked.
Kamat further emphasised that continuing the recruitment process beyond the gazette deadline undermines key principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability in public recruitment. He argued that this delay negatively impacts both the candidates waiting for selection and the public at large, who rely on a timely and lawful process to ensure fair opportunities in government employment.
In light of these issues, the GFP has formally requested that the recruitment procedure be annulled due to non-compliance with the stipulated deadline.
Mohandas Lolienkar, a senior officer-bearer of the GFP, further alleged that the delay could be indicative of a scam in the government recruitment process, calling for a full investigation into the matter.
