CARMONA: Accusing the panchayat members of betraying the villagers, the Carmona Village Committee (CVC) has demanded the immediate resignations of all the panchayat members as the people have lost faith in them.
On Sunday at 10.30 am, the ‘Save Carmona Save Goa Group’ will conduct a musical protest near the market where the villagers and others will agitate.
Following Saturday’s shocking developments, the CVC said they would file a petition with the election commission seeking disqualification of the panch members on the grounds of gross negligence and violations of law.
The committee has already filed a complaint with the Vigilance department and deputy director of pancahyats has called for a proper criminal investigation against the panchayat by Crime Branch.
Villagers have vowed not to allow the Raheja project to come up and will fight the case in court and protest on the streets. Some youth said they would go on a hunger strike.
